The secret to a long life and disease prevention/reversal is to eat a diet lower in calories but higher in nutrients.
It is all about nutrient bang per caloric buck.
Your health expectancy is predicted by your nutrient intake divided by your intake of calories or
H = N / C.

What is a Nutritarian?
A nutritarian is a someone whose goal is to maximize the micronutrients per calorie in their diet. We recognize that the foods we choose to eat can either have powerful disease-protecting and therapeutic effects on our body or they can slowly poison us. Armed with this knowledge, and the desire to live long, healthy and vibrant lives, nutritarians make educated food choices that are based on understanding the inherent nutritional quality of foods to provide a broad range of micronutrients.
Nutritarians also understand the importance of eating foods that have an adequate and diverse range of micronutrients, not just maximizing the absolute number of micronutrients. The problem with too many diets is that they severely limit both calories and nutritional variety. Nutritarians ensures that their bodies are well cared for and have all of the beneficial nutrients that they may need, not merely higher amounts of a select few. That is why they focus on nutritional quality, as well as the complete spectrum of foods that supply the fuel that their bodies need.
Nutritarians may be omnivore, vegetarian, pescaterian, or vegan, but one thing that they all have in common is that they favor nutrient rich foods such as leafy green vegetables, whole grains, onions, seeds, mushrooms, berries, cruciferous vegetables, beans and tomatoes, as these foods are high in micronutrient quality.
